Brisbane / new media cooperative

Broadcasting experimental web artefacts.

SIGNAL/BRIS builds restrained digital surfaces for artists, studios, and curious internet systems. Each release feels like a signal archive: precise, atmospheric, and ready to ship.

Artefact archive

Poster-grade surfaces for live browser work.

Each artefact behaves like a disciplined archive object: precise labels, tuned contrast, and just enough visual interference to feel alive.

Archive Relay 01

A publishing shell for artefacts that should feel documented, not disposable.

Archive Relay 01 is the baseline system card: hard-edged, lime-led, and tuned to make a project feel like a logged transmission instead of a temporary post.

stack Astro
tag archive

Built for launch pages, documentation intros, and portfolio entries that need stronger identity without losing scan speed.

Uses circular targeting marks and a softened scan texture so the graphic language feels technical but still calm.

Designed to hold a single strong message plus a small field of metadata, rather than a crowded dashboard of components.

Primary role
Archive shell
Reading mode
Fast scan / high contrast
Signal profile
Lime dominant / low noise

Morph Surface Study

A shader-like surface study for hero states that need motion without heavy rendering.

Morph Surface Study explores the softer side of the system language: luminous material, layered blur, and slow drift shaped to feel premium rather than overstimulated.

stack CSS
tag 3D illusion

The current version uses CSS-only blobs and orbit lines to echo shader behavior while staying inside a static Astro build.

Color energy is kept inside the object, allowing the surrounding interface to remain dark, readable, and intentionally sparse.

Best used when a page needs one visual event to anchor the first viewport and justify the atmosphere around it.

Grid Handshake

A structural system for aligning atmosphere, navigation, and metadata in the same frame.

Grid Handshake is the quiet infrastructure behind the page. It defines how diagonal signal paths, ring geometry, and micro-labels can support a layout without fighting the core content.

stack system
tag orbit

This system is useful when the brief calls for a speculative-tech tone but still needs disciplined reading order and accessible contrast.

The geometry is intentionally thin and low-noise so it behaves like scaffolding, not decoration pasted on top.

It works especially well for section dividers, archive cards, and any layout where metadata needs to feel integrated into the composition.

Layout scaffold

Signal Glitch Poster

A controlled failure-state poster for moments that need more voltage and less restraint.

Signal Glitch Poster pushes the archive language into a brighter, more unstable frame while still keeping the overall system legible and ordered.

stack glitch
tag poster

Useful for campaign moments, feature launches, or single artefacts that should briefly break the calm cadence of the main site.

The blocky rhythm in the visual panel is meant to feel like compressed signal data rather than nostalgic glitch ornament.

Because the base system remains consistent, this brighter mode can appear without collapsing the overall identity.

Primary role
Campaign / feature poster
Reading mode
High-impact / short dwell
Signal profile
Light field / chroma spikes

System card detail

Access Layer

A utility-first contact layer that stays inside the same visual system as the hero work.

Access Layer turns the interface language into something practical: enquiry routes, availability notes, and project framing for people who want to work with the studio.

stack contact
tag utility

The emphasis is on trust and clarity, not on making the CTA louder than the rest of the site.

Metadata treatment stays present so the contact panel still feels like part of the broadcast system rather than a pasted-on sales block.

This mode is ideal for final CTA sections, project enquiry modules, and collaboration notes.

Primary role
Contact / utility panel
Reading mode
Action-led / low friction
Signal profile
Dark utility / orbital cue

System note

A cooperative built like signal infrastructure.

SIGNAL/BRIS is a fictional broadcast system for web-native releases, prototypes, and experiments that deserve the same attention as finished products.

The cooperative publishes small but intentional artefacts: launch surfaces, portfolio systems, archive views, and build-in-public studies shaped by design-minded front-end practice.

The goal is not noise. It is to give each output a clear signal path, accessible structure, and enough atmosphere to feel distinct without becoming unreadable.

Access channel

Open the line for commissions, collaborations, and experiments.

If you need a concept site, artefact system, or portfolio surface that feels sharp without losing clarity, SIGNAL/BRIS is currently receiving transmissions.
